A legendary comic from the times of the former South. A comic that plays on the note of nostalgia, but that does not make it any less interesting for newer generations of readers. At one time, it could be understood as an “insider” critique of capitalism. Well, it’s not quite true. Max Bunker had as many quibbles about the West as he had about the East, or he didn’t even bother with it that much. He liked to say that the system, whatever it is, is inherently corrupt and created to exploit people. Unfortunately, he was also prophetic.
Of course, there is a noticeable time difference between life then and today. Today, virtually every resident has their own mobile phone, and the TNT team “borrowed” the phone line, and they listened to the radio “in the dark”. But the essence remained, and today we can easily say that our country is run in Alanfordian style, that our health care works in Alanfordian style, that social networks have become the most Alanfordian thing, that society is rushing towards Alanfordianism.
